Muslims in Malaysia, no Botox!

I have no problem with Islam at all.

I think it is a peaceful religion, but yes, very misunderstood.

There are so many reasons why it has become very misunderstood in this 21st century.

Western politics, aggressive media, modern ideology, ignorance, and possibly many other contributing factors.

But it all comes down to extremism, and ultimate idiocy that lead to the misconception of Islam.

Islamization in Malaysia sounds ridiculous when it starts to implement its extreme practice in its so-called democratic state that practices free choice of faith.

When higher authorities start to corpse snatch, separate sexes in public, and use a religion to gain political support (UMNO and PAS), the sanctity of that particular religion has just been stripped off.

Another ridiculous story has surfaced in the religious circle of Malaysia, that I think could possibly contribute to another misconception.

A Malaysian cleric advises Muslims in Malaysia not to undergo Botox injection, because the National Fatwa Council of Malaysia has declared Botox as Haram (forbidden).

Taken from Malaysia Today:

(IANS) - Muslims in Malaysia have been advised not to undergo Botox treatments as it is forbidden in Islam, a cleric has said. treatment as ‘haram’ (forbidden) as it had more adverse effects than good, The Star newspaper reported Thursday.

He said those providing Botox treatments should stop offering such services.

The observations came after Fatimah Wan Chik, the wife of Malaysian lawmaker Suhaili Abdul Rahman, fell seriously ill last week after undergoing the beauty treatment.

‘People like to do things that they shouldn’t. Do not go against religion for the sake of vanity. There are other ways and products that can make us look beautiful and we need not go against the fatwa,’ Mufti Wahad said.

Okay, just because the wife of this Malaysian lawmaker fell ill after undergoing Botox, does not make it HARAM in the name of Islam, nor do they have the right to make it Haram. (well apparently they do in Malaysia)
So is this a personal condemnation?

or, is this a new breed called the Islam Melayu?

Though it is not illegal by law, Malaysian Muslims are considered ’sinful’ to use Botox.

I also like it when they said ‘do not go against the religion for the sake of vanity’,
I think they meant do not go against the Malaysian National Fatwa Council for the sake of vanity’

Please, set worthy examples.
