Indonesia with its 95 ‘Ridiculous’ New Political Parties

The Politics in Indonesia is a mess.

95 new-listed political parties  have enlisted to the Depkum HAM (Law Department and Human Rights) in the hopes to compete in the 2009 National Elections.

Though many will definitely fail to make it through the steps required, but seriously, 95?

 No wonder Indonesians are confused.

95 of these ridiculous parties, each with different goals to ‘transform’ Indonesia.

Not only is the number ridiculous, some of these parties came up with even more ridiculous names for their parties.

There is one party that took the name of a tree (especially seen in the Old Batavia of Jakarta), called the Beringin Tree, thus they decided to call themselves: The Young Beringin.

There is the New Order Party, which I assume, they want to bring Indonesia back to the pre-98′ Reformation.

There are these two parties called the: Democratic Indonesia Christian Party, and, Democratic Christian Indonesia Party.

There’s even one that’s called The Peningit Warrior Party.

See what I’m saying?
