Beijing Olympics Uniform Revealed

China has revealed her very own design of the staff uniform for the 2008 Olympic.

The Band of Beijing.

Nice.

But I certainly think it would be better if the female staff were to use something more feminine, rather than pants.

According to Xinhua News, the uniforms are symbols for the “lucky clouds”, the same pattern used in the design of the 2008 Olympic torch.

Each color of the uniforms represents their working status.

Red uniforms represent the BOCOG (Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee) Staff.

Blue uniforms represent the volunteers.

Gray uniforms (my favorite) are for the technical officials.

 From Xinhua:

The design team of the uniforms were represented by the Cultural Activities Department of the Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee (BOCOG), Beijing Institute of Clothing Technology, Academy of Arts and Design of Tsinghua University, China Central Academy of Fine Arts and Adidas, an official partner of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

BOCOG said that it will outfit 130,000 individuals with uniforms provided by the German sportswear giant.

The Beijing Olympics will take place from Aug. 8 to 24.

On a related note, British Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, is the first foreigner to be allowed into the National Stadium, nicked-named the “Bird’s Nest” due to its shape, according to Henry Zhang, deputy general manager of the National Stadium Co., Ltd.

He was glad that some of the design for the Olympics involves some British influence.

He also said he will be visiting Beijing during the Olympic.

Even ministers need a good break.

After all, he said This is going to be the greatest Olympic Games ever”

I second that, Minister.
