For those of my readers who are big fans of the American media, and of those “Perezzers”, you must know the famous American TV show called, The View.

The View consists of female celebrities showcasing their range of perspectives on a specific topic that made headlines, from politics, to entertainment.

In Indonesia, there’s a similar show, called Silat Lidah, or Tongue Silat. (FYI, for those who don’t know what Silat is, it is the Malay/Indonesian fighting style. Like the Kung Fu, for the Chinese)

Unfortunately, in the Indonesian version, we don’t have an overweight lesbian butch running around the show, picking fight with a blonde George Bush supporter.
What we have is a male chauvinist as the main host, surrounded with six ladies of different personalities, and of course, perspectives on things.

Unlike The View, Silat Lidah tries to restrict talking about politics, and instead, it chooses social issues , and sex to entertain the biggest Muslim nation.

If you were to head to the official site, the word sex is plastered all over the website.

Embraced both by the women, and especially, the men community, the show received high ratings. Many of the Indonesians even commented that the show brings the real perspectives of Indonesian modern women.

I, personally, am a fan of the show. I’m not a TV person, but, I do glue myself on my couch whenever this show is on air.

I found some of the episodes on YouTube, but they were all cut short.

One video got my attention though. These ladies started talking about the RI-Malaysia relationship.

Watch it, it’s entertaining.

If you understand.
