Indonesia’s Movie For Oscar?

Indonesia’s movie industry is growing out of the South East Asia region, and is slowly penetrating international audience.

“Denias - Senandung di Atas Awan”, or in English, “Denias - Humming Above the Cloud” is an Indonesian movie that was produced in the year 2006.

Just recently, the movie has been getting rave reviews, and is on its way to enter many prestigious film festivals.

On November 13, 2007, the movie won the Asia Pacific Screen Awards- for the best Children Feature Film.

The movie will be premiered in the 17th Annual Brisbane International Film Festival, that starts on July 31 - August 10, 2008.

Today, the renowned Indonesian film will also be played at the Camelot Theaters, in Palm Springs, California, that starts on January 11 - 13, 2008.

The last, and definitely not the least, “Denias - Senandung di Atas Awan” is the only Indonesian representative to be up for the Oscar selection in 2008.

Awesome, isn’t it?
